23/04/2009
A university based in Manchester has appointed a firm to advise it on a number of properties it owns in the north-west city.
Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) has signed a deal with Drivers Jonas under which the company will provide it with strategic guidance on its property portfolio, Property Week News reports.
MMU properties include its new £70 million campus in Hulme and existing facilities in Rusholme and Didsbury.
Meanwhile, the university is also to take advice on a possible amalgamation of its two Cheshire campuses in Crewe.
Commenting on the deal, partner at Drivers Jonas John Weir said: "With its substantial land holdings and progressive development plans, MMU plays a pivotal role in the regional economy."
He added that Drivers Jonas' planning advice will help shape much of the institution's plans for future expansion.
With a history dating back to 1725, the firm now claims to have more than 750 partners and other staff members operating in offices in the UK, as well as Paris, Madrid and Frankfurt.
