Report: North west house prices go down
24/07/2007
The average price of a house in the north west fell this month, a new report has discovered.
In news which may be encouraging for people thinking of moving to a city in the region, a drop of 1.1 per cent since June was found by Rightmove, which conducts a monthly house price index.
The mean cost of a home in June was £182,580, which is higher than this month's level of £180,520.
And although the index reported a 5.1 per cent increase from the average price in July 2006, this is the lowest rise out of all UK regions, with the sharpest increase being prices in Yorkshire and Humberside which have risen by 11.4 per cent in 12 months.
However, house price indexes may soon reflect a change following the implementation of home information packs, which are set to rolled out in certain properties as of August 1st.
