21/02/2008
More than 2,000 streets in England and Wales have homes worth at least £1 million and some of these streets can be found in Greater Manchester, a new survey has revealed.
In a list that shows the five most expensive streets in the north of England, three are in Greater Manchester, according to house price website mouseprice.net.
Top of the list is Broadway Hale, where homes worth £2.1 million can be found, while Hill Top and Rappax Road, both in Hale, boast homes with price tags of around £1.8 million or £1.9 million.
In fact, the average price of the ten most exclusive streets in the Manchester area is £1.8 million.
"It is fascinating to see how the rankings of Britain's most desirable places to live form such clear and distinct clusters," said mouseprice.net spokesperson Zipporah Morrison Baker.
According to separate research by mouseprice.com, the average price of a Manchester property covered by the M postcode is £132,734.
