New apartments 'bring a touch of glamour' to Manchester
07/08/2007
A new city apartment building in Lower Broughton, Salford has brought the glamour of the Manhattan skyline to Manchester, according to a property developer.
The Vibe, the latest addition to the New Broughton development, is a 152-apartment nine-storey building, boasting a 24-hour concierge, secure parking and a landscaped garden on the first floor.
Located close to central Manchester, the apartments are likely to prove attractive to young professionals who want to be on the doorstep of England's second city.
There are also plans to build a new primary school, leisure and commercial, facilities and a parkland area at New Broughton.
Martin Leggett, sales director, told the Salford Advertiser: "The Vibe brings to Salford some of the glamour and chic that decorates a typical Manhattan skyline.
"Our vision for the area is to provide city centre living with traditional suburban values."
A total of 3,500 mixed-tenure homes are being built at New Broughton as part of an agreement between Countryside Properties, Salford City Council and Contour Housing.
"Together with Countryside Properties we are committed to ensuring Lower Broughton encompasses best practice urban renewal and greatly improves the quality of life for existing and new residents," councillor John Merry recently said.
