Millions generated at Manchester property auction

Millions of pounds were generated during a recent auction of Manchester properties.
In total, £6.6 million was made at the two-day sales in Manchester and Leeds.
The auctions were organised by Eddisons, which offered a total of 105 lots, 74 of which attracted buyers.
Tony Webber of Eddisons said: "The high number of lots sold after the auction reflects the funding difficulties buyers are still experiencing due to the credit crunch."
However, once finances are in place, consumers are "clearly still keen" to approach the firm with offers which, in some cases, exceeded the reserves placed on the properties.
He added that, given the current economic conditions, the total sale proceeds for the year-to-date for Eddisons are "encouraging".
With roots tracing back for 160 years, Eddisons employs more than 200 members of staff in offices located in eight regional offices in the UK, including Bradford, Bristol, Glasgow and Manchester.
