Manchester's commercial property market 'remains active'
22/05/2009
Despite the ongoing economic problems, the commercial property market in Manchester remains active, it has been claimed.
During a recent meeting organised by the Business Centre Association (BCA), a panel of property professionals expressed the view that the north-west city has been much less affected by the recession than many other places, Crain's Manchester Business reports.
Tony Bray from agents Cushman & Wakefield reported seeing a rise in the number of small digital firms looking to set up offices in Manchester ahead of the BBC's move to Salford's Media City UK development.
Meanwhile, Jennifer Brooke, executive director of the BCA, added: "As a region we are greatly encouraged that Manchester continues to do well with the number of new enquiries to the flexible space sector remaining high."
Established in 1989, the BCA is a trade association which represents the business centre and managed workspace industry.
It provides practitioners in the sector with support and guidance and aims to encourage excellence.
