Manchester sees rise in new property instructions
12/03/2009
Manchester has seen an increase in the number of new instructions from people looking to sell their properties, new figures suggest.
Produced by Globrix, the statistics indicate that there was a rise of 50.3 per cent in such instructions in the north of England in general.
Meanwhile, Manchester registered the most at 1,713 new properties in February.
This compared with 765 the previous month, AboutProperty.co.uk reports.
Globrix chief Daniel Lee said: "The February spike will be due to a number of factors, including the usual spate of seasonal instructions in time for the spring."
He added that homeowners will also be aware that there is an increased interest in the market and they may now be able to achieve a sale.
Last month, Key Property Investments began circulating a list of 211 Urban Splash properties which it said it could negotiate a discount on through bulk purchasing, Crain's Manchester Business reports.
