Thousands of properties in Manchester are to benefit from investments in new doors and windows.
A total of £15 million is being ploughed into the project, which is designed make the homes safer and warmer.
The houses which are to benefit from the scheme are located in a range of areas, including Gorton North, Gorton South, Levenshulme, Ardwick, Longsight and Rusholme.
They are managed by housing association Eastlands Homes, which was formed in 2003 to take over and improve around 2,800 of Manchester's former council homes.
Commenting on the new doors and windows, Sheila Doran, chief of Eastlands Homes, said: "They will help to reduce energy bills and improve home security, as well as enhance the appearance of each property."
She added that this project is "just the start of the works" and a total of £110 million will be spent over the next five years on improving local houses.
