Manchester commercial property 'bucking national trend'
06/03/2008
Despite the national downturn in the commercial property sector, Manchester has performed well in recent months, it has been claimed.
According to investment services firm Midas, the quality and diversity of Manchester's property is helping to keep the city's commercial property market healthy.
Quality Grade A space and the continued development of regeneration projects that offer a range of cost-effective property options are two reasons why the market has remained stable, the organisation said.
Colin Sinclair, chief executive at Midas, said: "What Manchester has to offer as a business location and the quality and diversity of property is keeping the city's market stable.
"There are a number of exciting landmark developments taking shape around the city-region, such as Spinningfields, Mediacity:uk and Kingsway."
The Mediacity:uk site at Salford Quays will soon be home to several BBC departments and other media organisations.
Estate agents are already preparing for an influx of employees and TV stars looking for residential accommodation.
