Hundreds of new homes planned for Beswick
04/10/2007
Almost 300 new homes are to be built in Beswick, east Manchester.
This will be the second phase of a development situated between Ashton Old Road and Grey Mare Lane.
Once completed, it will comprise 66 two and three-bedroom apartments and 223 two, three, four and five-bedroom houses.
Tom Russell, chief executive of regeneration agency New East Manchester said this latest Manchester property development will form the basis of a "sustainable neighbourhood".
He went on to say that the development will prove attractive to those who want to bring up their children, especially as the new homes will soon be joined by a 900-place high school academy.
This will also contain a public library, a community sports hall, all-weather sports pitches and adult education services.
Other housing projects in east Manchester include Gorton Monastery Village and the New Islington development.
