House prices stand still in Greater Manchester

The average Greater Manchester property price remained unchanged in August and is now recorded at £128,269, according to new figures.
Research by the Land Registry shows that while house prices did not rise or fall over the month, the city-region saw a 7.2 per cent rise in the 12 months to August.
The City of Manchester saw a 0.1 per cent rise in August, bringing the annual rate of growth to 10.9 per cent, the best-performing metropolitan district in England and Wales.
Bolton saw the second-fastest rate of growth in the 12 months to August, with the average annual price climbing to ten per cent in August.
Meanwhile, Oldham experienced the biggest negative monthly price movement, with a fall of 0.8 per cent in August.
A recent study by Rightmove found that asking prices in the north-west were up two per cent in August, the largest increase of all regions in England and Wales.
