Greater Manchester house prices 'up in May'

House prices in Greater Manchester rose by 0.1 per cent in May, according to the latest figures from the Land Registry.
This brings the annual rate of growth in the city-region to 7.5 per cent and the average price of a home to £126,651.
The best performing borough in Greater Manchester was Oldham, which had an annual price increase of 10.9 per cent.
But figures for the north-west are less impressive, with monthly house prices falling by 0.4 per cent in May.
Across England and Wales as a whole, the average house price now stands at £180,594 after an 8.9 per cent annual increase.
According to a recent analysis of Greater Manchester property trends by the BBC, the highest average house price is in Trafford, followed by Stockport and Manchester.
