20/12/2007
New high-specification commercial space at Trencherfield Mill in Wigan will attract businesses looking for "first-class facilities", it has been claimed.
The redevelopment of Trencherfield Mill, on the banks of the Leeds-Liverpool canal, comprises 57,595 sq ft of office space, commercial units and more than 250 upmarket apartments.
Developer Stewart Milne said that Trencherfield Mill presents new employment opportunities in the town and will attract private investors hoping to move into a Manchester commercial property.
Malcolm Deans, managing director, said: "Wigan's economy no longer relies on the traditional industries of the past and this vibrant town is developing a heartbeat of forward-thinking businesses.
"The commercial units at Trencherfield Mill are designed to a high specification to suit tenants looking for first-class facilities for their employees."
According to move2wigan, the borough has undergone a "major restructuring" of its economy in recent years and is now home to more than 5,000 companies.
