East Salford development to enter new phase
28/09/2007
A fast-growing community in east Salford looks set to grow even more following an announcement that one and two-bedroom apartments are to be built.
New Broughton, a regeneration project managed by the city council and housebuilder Countryside Properties, is to enter its second phase.
And for struggling first-time buyers there will be a scheme where they can contribute at least half of the purchase price, with regeneration agency English Partnerships investing the outstanding amount.
Les Brown, Countryside Properties regional director, said the success of phase one demonstrates the desire of residents to live in New Broughton.
"The second phase of the development is set to include a combination of both affordable and private new homes as we look to further increase the population of the local area," he added.
Last month, the developer announced that a 152-apartment nine-storey building known as The Vibe will be built at New Broughton.
It will boast secure parking space, a 24-hour concierge and a landscaped garden on the first-floor mezzanine.
