City-region house prices 'up by 6.8% in 12 months'

The latest figures from the Land Registry show that house prices in Greater Manchester grew by 6.8 per cent in the 12 months to November.
The metropolitan district with the highest annual price increase is Oldham, rising by 10.3 per cent.
In Tameside and Rochdale house prices were up by 8.9 and 8.6 per cent respectively, while Salford witnessed a 7.1 per cent increase.
All remaining boroughs saw annual prices grow at less than seven per cent, including the City of Manchester.
The figures also show that Bolton had the most significant monthly price fall in November with a movement of minus-one per cent.
In the wider north-west, house price growth between November 2006 and November 2007 registered at 6.3 per cent.
Meanwhile, data from Nationwide Building Society reveals that house prices in Greater Manchester have risen by 180 per cent in the past ten years.
