Affordable homes on offer in east Manchester

Young people in east Manchester are being offered the opportunity to climb onto the first rung of the property ladder without having to break the bank.
Countryside Properties has announced that it is releasing 28 houses and apartments at its Sportcity Living development near Manchester City Football Club's new stadium.
First-time buyers are assessed to see if they qualify for the First Time Buyers Initiative (FTBI), which is a collaboration between the housebuilder and regeneration agency English Partnerships.
"FTBI enables first-time buyers to contribute a minimum of 50 per cent towards the full purchase price of a new home ... while English Partnerships contributes the rest," said a spokesperson for Countryside Properties.
"After three years homeowners will pay fees on the amount contributed by English Partnerships, rising to a maximum of three per cent after five years in the property."
Sportcity Living comprises two-bedroom apartments and three and four-bedroom homes.
Previous phases of the Manchester property development include The Cube and The Frame, which consist of 360 apartments.
