£14,400 for potential Clifton homeowners

A housebuilder is offering £14,400 to would-be home buyers if they reserve an apartment at a new estate in Clifton, near the country park.

First-time buyers hoping to purchase a Manchester property could receive the money over a 24-month period if they sign up for a home at the development called The Place.

Developer George Wimpey is hoping that the offer of £600 a month for two years will entice one or two-bedroom apartment seekers in the Manchester area.

Carole Jackson, sales executive, said: "The £600 a month for two years seems like an offer that is too good to be true but it really isn't.

"It is a real bonus and will be appreciated by many buyers who are either struggling to get on the property ladder or have previously thought they cannot afford to make the next step up."

In July, another developer, Miller Homes, started work on a new housing development in nearby Kersal.

Around 230 new properties will be built on site of the old high school and the estate will comprise one and two-bedroom flats and two, three, four and five-bedroom houses.
