City's property market gets the thumbs up
11/06/2008
In what may be seen as an endorsement of the Manchester property market, a major property consultant is relocating to Chancery Place in Upper King Street.
Jones Lang LaSalle will move from its current building on King Street into the 15-storey glass-clad building in October, which will eventually provide a mix of office and retail space.
The company, which has signed a 15-year lease, said the regional property market is still attractive to buyers and renters.
Commenting on the move, Jonathan Mills, head of the Manchester office, said the decision "reflects the firm's ongoing commitment to investing in its north-west business".
He added: "We have seen phenomenal growth since we first opened our doors in the city over 13 years ago, with just four members of staff."
According to investment services agency Midas, Manchester's commercial property sector is booming because of quality office space at locations like Salford Quays and Spinningfields.
